change size?

The area that I have circled in the attached screenshot, I would like to find a way to shrink just the text in that area, and increase the quantity of items that I can show at one time.

Depending on your browser you can zoom out (on my system it's [ctrl]+[-]), but you can also recover a great deal of screen real estate for listing purposes by collapsing the preview pane. This is done by clicking on the little triangle on the upper-right corner of the preview pane.

Yes, I could do that, but it would shrink all the text equally, not just that window, which is what I want, but also doing that would do nothing for all the wasted space between all the lines of items in the mailbox. (In the text, above and below it)
