Hi,

I am getting an error message of "conversion failed" when I try to use a particular PDF file for fax transmission. The odd thing though is that after trying for a 3rd time, it was successful and transmission completed. However, then when I wanted to send a subsequent fax using the same file to a different receiver, I have again encountered the "conversion failed" error message again. Seems to be some parsing difficulty, nothing to do with the actual transmission attempts because it errors out before even starting to try sending. The file is just 4 pages, so I don't imagine it's too big, especially since it did complete successfully once.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks,
Chris

Anything odd about the PDF? Was it made with Adobe Acrobat, or another application?

The PDF was made by scansnap, and has OCR enabled. Not sure if that somehow alters the encoding, header, or something. When I did get it to work, I rewrote the PDF using Nitro PDF maker, and that is when it was able to avoid this error. However, when I did it a second time it seemed to encounter the error still. So far it's just been this particular PDF, but unfortunately I don't have a way to recreate the original

Chris, I have a pretty good idea of what caused this intermittent issues and have resolved it at least temporarily. It looks like a memory leak in one of the fax processes on one of the two servers had consumed a significant amount of ram - more than enough to prevent some kinds of pdfs from being processed correctly.
