I have someone updating my Wordpress site hosted on sonic.net who wishes to protect my posts, etc., by first making a full backup of the database.

He tells me that he tried 3 different plugins to download a copy of my database but none will work with sonic.net. He also attempted to access phpmyadmin to make a manual export of the database but apparently sonic.net does not allow access to phpmyadmin for personal level hosting accounts. Sonic.net tech support does not support Wordpress. We are stuck!

Can someone kindly provide specific instructions for backing up a Wordpress database hosted on Sonic.net?

Thank you!

You should be able to export posts and pages via Tools->Export in the admin page for your site. Many of the instructions online are for the older version 2.X installs - import/export is now built-in in newer versions.
I'm a proud employee of Sonic.net! :-)
