New webmail is terrible when overseas

I have been using the new webmail in Greece for the past 4 weeks and find it to be really bad. Half the time the page does not load at all, and the rest of the time it is painfully slow. It is not worth using - I have gone back to the legacy apps. If they get removed completely, I may start looking for a new ISP. Please fix the speed of the new app or keep the old ones.
