Hello, I've been using sonic for a while now, and lately it's been getting pretty spotty. My ping is a little higher than it normally is (around 50ms to around 90ms), but sometimes it even spikes to 200 to 2000. I'm not downloading anything, streaming anything, and the internet speed spikes. How can I fix this? I've reset the modem.

Also, I am directly connected to the modem.

You should ring support. A peer forum can't really address an issue with your individual circuit.

While it's a bit geekly, http://testmy.net/auto can test your connection every hour, and plot the results.
Also Sonic has graphs they don't share with customers that show the sync speed over time.
