Hi,
I installed wordpress through your website add-on and then developed the wordpress site locally on my machine. I am now ready to move it online but I don't seem to have access to a database management tool like phpmyadmin or cpanel in order to update the mysql file. How can I access the db that is connected to the current wordpress installation?
Thank you!

Hi, brrich. I think I have a similar problem. Did you ever find out where your WP database was/is stored and how to access it? I just posted a similar question, prior to seeing your post.
Thanks,
Tom

Brrich,
When you install Wordpress via Member Tools, it doesn't add access via phpMyAdmin like creating a standalone database will. There are some differences between a manual install and the automated setup Sonic.net provides. That said, you can find all the information on which database your install is using by looking at the wp-config.php file in the main directory for your Wordpress install.
Thankfully, newer versions of Wordpress allow you to backup and restore most content without having to touch the database - you should be able to copy over everything from the wp-content/uploads directory, then perform an export/import according to the instructions on the Wordpress support site:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Tools_Export_Screen
http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing#WordPress
You will have to re-install any custom themes or plugins, but other than that, it should go smoothly.

Hi, Joe. Sorry to barge in on this other post, but did you see my earlier post about a mySQL/WordPress mystery? I have a similar issue in that I need to access and back up my WP database but the DB specified in my wp-config file is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. When I go to Member Tools the 2 mySQL DBs there are empty (no tables) or unviewable, and neither has the name listed in the config file: rrnet_oc_1. I know rrnet_oc_1 exists because a) the site works fine, and b) there is no other DB listed anywhere in all of my WP files.
Could you offer any theory as to why I can't find (and administer) rrnet_oc_1? I've already spent time on the phone with a couple of folks in support and they were great (as are all the Sonic techs) but neither of them could figure this out.
Thanks,
Tom Ludovise
