I am considering switching to sonic hosting. I was told that only PHP4 is supported but that PHP5 is available via htaccess file. Is this true? Are there any issues running PHP5 in this environment?

Yep. PHP4 is the default, but it's really easy to use PHP5 via .htaccess. Here's a link to our documentation on the subject: https://wiki.sonic.net/wiki/Php5

I haven't had any issues running PHP5 this way, but I admit that I don't use PHP nearly as much as some of the other folks on these forums. Someone else may have run into something I haven't.
