Configuring ZXE W300 as bridge-only?

I have not been very happy with the ZXE W300 as a WAP and DHCP server. The WAP only allows whitelisting 8 MAC addresses. The DHCP server occasionally gives out bogus IP addresses in the 192.168.168.x range (is configured for 192.168.0.x), usually on first contact with a whitelisted wireless device (though sometimes a wired host!) after a boot.

We still have the old Linksys WRT54G WAP/router we were using with our previous ISP, with Tomato firmware installed. I would like to reinstall the Linksys and restrict the ZXE box to serve only as an ADSL modem. Does this require switching to a static IP address?

The ZXE "manual" contains no information whatever about configuring the thing, so any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I've updated our wiki docs to include information on bridging the ZTE.

Thanks rodrigo, seems simple enough.

Do I have to switch to a static IP, or will the W300 somehow pass the dynamic IP to the Linksys router? I'm in need of more clues here.

Since the w300 will be a 'dumb' bridge, it'll act as a pass-through and the Linksys router needs to be configured for dhcp so that it can grab the dynamic ip.

Note that once the w300 is in bridge mode, it'll be inaccessible unless you reset it, or hook a computer directly to it and assign the computer a static ip of 192.168.X, and then access it at 192.168.1.1. In that case, you'll need to remember and replace your computer's settings once you're done configuring.

That should be enough to get me started. Thanks!

Working great! It only took a couple of minutes to reconfigure everything. Thanks rodrigo!
