I attempted to create an email alias in my domain. I was hoping to direct mail sent to mike.lastname-xxxxing to a valid mailbox.

The Domain Email Addresses tool told me: "You entered an invalid email alias."

I have other aliases of the form firstname.lastname and word-word in my domain. However, the tool seems to balk at aliases of the format xxxx.yyyy-zzzz and xxxx-yyyy.zzzz.

It accepted mike.lastname.xxxxing. It also accepted mike-lastname-xxxxing. However, the tool also balked at mike-lastname.xxxxing.

Unless I've forgotten how to parse ABNF, the rejected aliases are syntactically correct per RFC 5322. Am I overlooking something?
