Forward your voice number to your Faxline number, so it will capture a fax. Then you'll know who's sending and you can report them.

Thank you CDKeen for explaining. Glad to hear we're on the same page. As noted in my last post, I am going to report every single number I get in the future. That being said, bogus calls since you instituted your new program have dropped by approx. 90%. And, I REALLY appreciate you attempting to block calls related to voting. One caveat, last time quite a lot of calls are from phone numbers ( probably disposable phones) from candidates volunteers here in Sonoma County. Methinks these will be harder to block, but I'll still report them as junk.
Keep up the good work!

708-833-7993 -- garbled message claiming I've won a raffle. Obviously a scam as I don't enter raffles.

repeated calls went to voicemail, no message
Lots of reports when I google that one identifying it as a robocaller
Area codes in North America that begins with an "8" and have the same digit in the second and third positions (i.e., 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844) are used exclusively for inbound toll-free numbers. A call to an "8xx" number rings through to a real phone number, but there are no real calls originating from any 8xx number because there's no actual phone line which has that number. It's a streamlined mechanism for making collect calls, where the recipient pays for the call.
That being said, a legitimate caller who "owns" an 8xx number might intentionally set up their phone system to send their own 8xx number in the caller ID info rather than their true outgoing number, so somebody calling back has their toll-free number right at their fingertips. (And because they don't want to disclose their real phone number(s).)
I suspect that most of these calls are spam calls with spoofed caller IDs, but there is the possibility it could be legitimate.

I'm getting repeated calls from 562-270-9410. If I pick up, there is static and they hang up about 10 seconds later. If I let it go to voicemail, there is static until the answering machine times out the message.
Please block this caller.

Please block 510.562.8801 - Lighthouse Community Charter School.
I've had my phone number for a few months now, and have been receiving several calls a week from this school, to let me know that my child has not attended school that day, to inform me about fundraisers, etc.
Obviously the people who had this phone number before me never alerted the school (or other people as well) that they no longer had this phone number.
I don't have any children living with me, just a grown son living in Portland, California. Most of the time, these messages are in Spanish, not English.
I have called several times to get the school to remove my number from their automated calling lists. They always promise to remove it, but never do. I would appreciate it if you could help me with this. It's kind of hard to believe that I don't have any capacity to block a number, but writing in this forum.
Is there some way that I could get a response on how you're handling this? I'm not sure that you can do it either.

I called the number for you, spoke to the receptionist at the school and asked her to assist in removing your number. She said she would try to get it removed, and apologized for the inconvenience. Hopefully the calls will subside.

How do you handle calls that come in as "Anonymous" without any phone number? I got two of these this morning. Checked the Accession app on my smartphone, and the call history log also has no actual phone number for these calls.
Does Sonic's phone switch get any metadata with an incoming call that shows the real originating number, as opposed to what the caller ID info shows?
