I wonder if Sonic.net will be supporting some of the more aggressive profiles for Vdsl2 G.993.2 . From the Screenshot Dan posted looks like the modem is running profile "8b" which as a Max. downstream of 50 Mbit/s. I see that other profiles have much higher theoretical speeds like 17a @ 100 Mbit/s or even 30a @ 200 Mbit/s

Is there any publicly viewable roadmap/timetable for VDSL2 rollout? I'm only 870ft from the CO so I have high hopes...if I can get the service sometime soon. 94110 zip here.

Over the next six months or so, VDSL2 will be deployed into all 125 of the cities where Fusion is available. Our Fusion network continues to evolve, both with fiber expansion and with upgrades to copper services meanwhile.
I take it we'll need to upgrade modems as well? I'm still using an old ZTE831 modem that I got when I first signed up, and those don't seem to support VDSL.

How does this process work? Will you be sending out emails notifying when the switchover will happen? I'd like to know in advance so I can prepare a proper modem.

We haven't even begun to talk about how we'll manage upgrades. At a rough guess, it seems likely that we'll contact customers who are on shorter loops, suggesting an optional upgrade. It'd be a re-wire in the central office, there's likely to be some one-time cost associated, and we'd supply a new modem.

But, lots of details to work out before we'd be approaching this, we're still quite early in the roll-out process for VDSL2 capabilities.

VDSL2 is now online in three COs, with more expected to come online starting next week. We've been waiting for interfaces from our vendor.

Is VDSL2 in COs a separate project from the U-Verse offering or are they the same? My initial question was what about VDSL2 in RTs.

Separate.

The RT product status is that first test orders to staff premises were processed today. So, working on it.

we are in 94116, Quintara/22nd Ave roughly 5030ft from the CO, any chance for us to benefit VDSL2 hoping faster speed?

How long can we expect to have faster service after the CO becomes online? I can't wait.
