MIne is an alias on a domain I have hosted here. It's the one getting spammed. :(

Yeah I had a whole bunch come in today, caught by the spam filter.

Spam has been really bad the past couple of weeks. I used to get one or two a day in my inbox. Now it's five-ten. Something happened somewhere. Very annoying!

A lot more spam is getting into greymail, seems to be hundreds per day, for my account. They are still easy to get rid of, the subject lines alone clearly identify them as spam. On the other hand, with my slightly tuned SpamAssassin settings, the amount of spam that gets through to my real inbox remains near zero.

Did the Sonic staff tighten the SpamAssassin settings recently? My wife's account (same domain, different username) for the first time had some good mail (from our son's school) end up in greymail. Not a problem, since we all know to look there. Occasional false positives are a fact of life.

We pushed a new version of SA out last Friday. I suspect that the rulesets are very similar but as always, occasional false positives are unavoidable.

Okay, I got 14 spams in my Inbox today. I will go to Spam Assassin and see what I can do with the settings.

The new SA config isn't helping me. Got 3 spams in my mailbox today and my SA settings are tighter than baggy pants on Homer Simpson.

This is really starting to suck.

I've made some substantial changes to our SA install and incorporated a commercial add on product that will hopefully make a significant improvement in the overall performance and accuracy of SA. Let me know how things look now.

I had been running 100 to 200 in graymail per day. Today it is 20. Reach your own conclusions. :)

lr - do you use any DNS blacklists? If so, please let me know because I'd like to use the same ones.

If there are fewer emails in your graymail that just means they're sending less to you unless you're using DNS blacklists. Graymail means SA trapped the email before it got to your inbox, so if the graymail amount goes down it just means it never reached Sonic or Sonic blocked it via DNS lists.
