I am asking that Sonic continue to provide the original SquirrelMail interface found at this URL:
https://webmail.sonic.net/squirrelmail/src/login.php

It is extremely stable, reliable, simple, and fast. I have been using it as a Sonic customer for 12 years, and it is great for my needs.

The newest webmail may be excellent for some customers, but please continue to offer the original SquirrelMail for those of us who very much appreciate it.

As an aside: I have lived in most regions of this country, and I can say that Sonic is the best ISP, and the best website, domain, and e-mail hosting provider, for reliability, security, privacy, and customer service. It starts at the top.

Thank you,
David

Just a thought here, with as many issues comming up for the new "beta" webmail application, you may want to outsource to a SQA group to assist in determining issues, paticularly with compatibility, and stress testing in mind.
My years in Software Quality Assurance Engineering are long over, but perhaps a beta program, with users, isn't the best solution for QA at this point in development.

These guys are local, might be worth a look before release: http://www.betabreakers.com/

The beta had this feature right before -- pls restore it?

Previously, the beta had several options for selecting multiple messages for deletion. Using Shift-click, I could select messages scattered throughout the list, then Delete them all at once, without affecting the wanted messages in between. Now, Shift-click puts a check in the box -- and when I Shift-click on another message elsewhere in the list, it selects all the messages in between as well as the two I wish to delete. This seems to duplicate the box function, and makes it harder to delete unwanted messages without accidentally deleting wanted messages as well.

FYI, Shift-click is a Windows standard for selecting everything to the end of the list.
Try using Ctrl-click to select individual list items.

Sonic, please know that aliases are still broken. Also, the new webmail cannot find a few of the entries in my address book, so I have to use the old e-mail client to find them. Are there plans to fix these two problems, or can we simply use the older webmail indefinitely?

A bug that the new webmail didn't have from the beginning is that links with dashes get munged. I send to somebody the following:

Hey, those condos near your house are really inexpensive these days!
http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhom ... 26?row=116

Sadly, what ends up in sent mail (and in the recipient's inbox) is:

Hey, those condos near your house are really inexpensive these days!
detail/879-Woodside-Ln-E-Unit-3_Sacramento_CA_95825_M10644-54126?row=116

That's embarrassing, and with the old e-mail client, I don't have that problem. I presume that it is a priority.

In setting up filters, you can set a key word found in From, To, etc. How about adding ANywhere or at least Body?

Ctl-click works in the beta, thanks!

Thanks for keeping SquirrelMail active. The Beta just hung on me while I was expecting a password reset for my Amazon account -- which came to old reliable Squirrel just fine.

The Beta has a lot of convenient features, when they work. Haven't tried it under low bandwidth conditions.

KEEP LOGGED IN STILL DOES NOT WORK

The new webmail is still requiring login several times in an evening, even when I have just been at a different tab in the same browser for a short time.

This happens with Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox -- on two different computers (both Win 7).
Both are on the same DSL, sometimes a "slow connection".

Using the browsers' '"remember password" does not work reliably either.
