Routing switch hardware usually whenever busy cause deprioritized the ICMP echo/reply requests result the higher ping/packet loss but not impact the routing data. Usually last hop or last two hops are only thing to look out for.
Here mine using AlmaLinux box wired to UDM Pro (4.0.21) > ONT with 10Gtek 10GBase SFP+
Via My Traceroute (MTR) available in most Linux distro (idk about Windows lol)

You may want to ask Sonic to connect your ONT to another port at the OLT if the light readings are OK. It appears you're in a different geographical location than where I am (SF Bay Area) so it's difficult to compare traceroute responses.

I’m in San Mateo County of Bay Area.
The Sonic technicians and phone support who came onsite have said the light levels look within normal range historically.

I followed Ubiquiti's guidance and bought+put in another router (Alta Labs Route10) in between AdTrans ONT and the Ubiquiti Dream Machine 2 days ago.
Interestingly, the packet loss and disconnections have reduced in frequency from many times per hour throughout 24 hours and everyday... down to a handful of times in per day. This stopgap certainly points to Ubiquiti team being potentially correct about AdTrans ONT from Sonic as the cause of the interoperability issues).
While an improvement, I am still seeing some disconnections unfortunately (even with Alta Labs Route10 connected to AdTrans ONT), so the Sonic.net connection is still only semi-stable.
Considering the fact that I've swapped through Eero POE Gateway, Eero Max 7, and now Alta Labs Route 10... and had each of them connect to the AdTrans (and the Ubiquiti Dream Machine being downstream) and all those setups all each got disconnections... it's clear that my hardware (and all those new cables from Cable Matters on AMZN) aren't the cause of the disconnections.
Still awaiting Sonic's response and their fix to the disconnections.

I believe Sonic still does their own ping monitoring but you can also do this yourself using a free service like
UptimeRobot to chart your wan disconnects. Since Sonic's fiber IPs are dynamic I would use ddns for continued monitoring after ip changes. I use no-ip for several locations and have been happy with their service.
I'll just repeat though that if the Sonic tech who replaced the ont suspects there's an issue between the ont and the street (as you posted previously) I would call Sonic and request they send a tech out to troubleshoot further and hopefully identify/fix the cause.
