PLEASE - that is PLEASE leave Squirrel Mail 1.4.22 on line- it works JUST FINE! -w/ colored line entries and all! and it serves us well. The new web mail - well - it is cumbersome, etc. The Address Book does not sort, entries are mus-identified. Whose corporate ego is being served by eliminating Squirrel Mail 1.4.22 when (some of) the Customer Body wants Squirrel Mail 1.4.22. I travel a lot and Squirrel Mail 1.4.22 can save the day in tight cyber-deprived/challenged situations. Add the new webmail application for those who want to use it. Leave Squirrel Mail 1.4.22 for those of us who depend upon its elegance and simplicity. Thank you.

Wish list:
- didn't take up so much real estate on my monitor (eg, the composing window is tiny, esp with html turned on), I can't see as many emails at once in my inbox, etc.
- "compose" option when an email is opened
Musings:
- are there check boxes? I like to select multiples to delete or move into a subfolder, though I see that Ctrl + mouse clicks does multiple selecting.
- looks like I am stuck with drag and drop, vs selecting several and option to move to a subfolder? Maybe there is a keyboard shortcut I am missing?

Sorry it is all complaints--that is what I am noticing at first use. I do like this interface better than the "basic" and "simple" interfaces, though I am a sucker for squirrelmail!

When I have time, I will explore the settings options and check for things like always compose/read in html, always keep cc and bcc fields on, etc. Thanks!

I'll second the toggle complaint. It was a very nice feature for me to use to select only the message's that I wanted to download into my email- a nice "personal filter feature".
PLEASE BRING IT BACK AS I AM ON DIAL-UP OUT HERE IN THE BOONIES!

You can select multiple message at once by using CTRL + Left-Click -- and then use either the delete button in the app, or the 'd' or DELETE key on your keyboard to delete all of the selected messages at once. There are also some keyboard shortcuts that might be of some use to you - click on the keyboard icon for a list.

:D

I'm encouraged with the performance and very pleased with the appearance of the new format so far. My one concern is that each email loads quite slowly, even before clicking "Display Images".

You might want to hide the preview pane to let you see more message at once - click on "down" arrow on the right of the bar separating the message list and preview pane.

There are no check boxes, and but as you already figured out, you can use CTRL + LeftClick to select multiple messages.

You can either drag and drop or right click to pull up the context menu which has the move/copy functions.

Please note - there is currently a bug where if you left click to select and quickly right click to pull up the context menu the action is seen as a double click and opens the message.

Can you quantify "slowly"? Are we talking about fractions of a second or several seconds? How many messages are in the folder?

The "loading ball" is active about 5 (+ or -) seconds before any of the message is displayed.

One thing I've liked over the years is the format of my email. It's currently easy to read incoming mail, sort, and save.
It's easy on the eyes, and makes for quick, reliable communication.

Sometimes change is good...but in this case, when you've got a good product, why are you messing with it?
Do you really want to homogenize Sonic to make it look like AOL or any other service out there--?
Did you consider why customers are loyal to you in the first place?

Please, don't let so-called market innovation, blind you to making a bad business decision.
SAVE THE SQUIRREL.
Thank you.
Cheers, LGB

This is when you double-click to open the message as opposed to just using the preview pane? It should be a little faster to use the preview pane. How fast is your connection and where are you connecting from?
