Other than that-so far so very good!
That behavior can be changed through Settings->Composing Messages->When Replying.

I believe this also will be resolved soon. Top-reply in email has become the norm.

Kelsey, can you confirm?

Hi Dane mostly I like the new version, although the cliches are frustrating. First when I try to reply to a sender, I get a returned mail. Although the mail is received by recipient. Also, the subject line keeps changing the way my mail is shown in the list. Defaults to ascending instead of descending.

When receiving messages in the new webmail, I do not see those who have been copied until I chose to respond to all.

One other related point. The dialog box that pops up says "An error occurred!" in big red letters (preceded by an exclamation point in a red triangle), and smaller letters say that "Spelling errors were detected in the message."

Many people who see a dialog like that will immediately jump to the conclusion that either they made a serious mistake, or else that there's a problem "with the Internet."

I'd like to suggest the red "An error occurred!" be softened. Even better, change it to non-bold text stating "Message not sent" (no exclamation point). That should avoid panic. :D

Actually, the pop-up really isn't needed. I just realized that the status bar has a red "There are spelling errors" message in it. Shouldn't that be enough?

Overall, I really like the new webmail application. In particular, it's great to finally have a webmail program that doesn't need to run on Internet Explorer (my *least favorite* web browser :x) in order to be fully functional.

The only problem with it is the fixed width - it does not in any way adjust with the size of the browser window, nor even relative to the maximum screen width. I typically access my webmail via a laptop with a 1024-pixel/12-inch wide screen, and I have to do a long of left-to-right scrolling to get between the left toolbar and right vertical scrollbar. I don't see why the window needs to be so wide.

I'm using Windows XP, SP3 with the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome, BTW, and have the same problem in both browsers.

There will be a less rigid layout when this goes into production. I've seen a development version that has significantly more horizontal wiggle room, as well as a number of other features that folks in this forum have requested.

I just tried the Reply feature.

On my 4" tall Acer screen, 1 1/8 inch is available for me to type my message. The rest of the screen is white space or black space padding 3 lines of trivial information (from, to, and subject).

Why do these young power users who Don't Mind Learning New Things need big picture icons? Why do they need so much white space around their big picture icons?

At least it's set up for top posting.
