407-621-5215 is a Florida number that calls and hangs up when asked to put on "No Call List".

An air-duct cleaning service in the San Francisco area code is robo-calling us. Please add 415.827.9316 to the spam phone call list.

925-290-8517 "Livermore"
Left a 3-sec blank voicemail
'oogling the number, lots of mentions of it as invalid robot caller.
One mentioned it has a rude answering message when that number is called back.

Just got the same air duct cleaning spammers, but different caller ID number: CALIFORNIA CALL at 415-319-4760 on Sat Feb 22.
Please block 415-319-4760.

Question for Sonic folks -- are these numbers even reliable enough to block?
And could someone do a DDOS by using an innocent party's number, getting it blocked?

Smarter caller-id spoofing
"Luck, Tony" <
[email protected]>
Thu, 20 Feb 2014 18:20:35 +0000
My cell phone just rang with caller-id announcing that it was my teenage daughter. I answered in a rush because being a typical teenager she would rather use any other method of communication rather than a voice call - so I figured it must be urgent.
It wasn't. It wasn't even her. It was the "Card Holder Services" spammers saying they wanted to reduce my interest rates.
But the question is - How did they decide spoof her number when calling me? ...
... However they did it - the value of caller-id when deciding whether to take a call just hit zero.

876-837-8912 "Carlton JM"
Trinidadian accent, maybe, said my wife.
Aha, 'oogled:
"876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica."
Male caller, loud voice, pushy:
"This is the UPS, we are calling to verify the GPS coordinates, the truck is five minutes away, to deliver a certified check, what is your address?"
He hung up after my wife challenged him saying this sounds like a scam, UPS has never had to call for help finding the house.
