Thanks, Dane. I hadn't heard about that option--I should check and see if I'm missing your emails. I've read that long thread on your post about it, and i have a question: If I choose to try out renting, can I later change my mind and return the equipment and buy my own?

We haven't yet emailed customers regarding the availability of this new equipment, as we are still working on the order fulfillment page.

If you do go this direction, it becomes part of your service, so I'm afraid it cannot be returned. (I think we'd make an exception if it were within the first 30 days.) The idea is that the modem is becoming more and more integrated with the service, and features like IPv6, we've got an app in development that will eventually allow for circuit configuration tuning, the CPE will auto-config for things like static IP, etc. While customers are certainly welcome to stick with their own equipment, I'm hopeful that in the long run, many will choose to take the new Sonic.net equipment offering.
