There's no prep to be done today. Migration from AT&T ADSL1 to AT&T FTTN for non-Fusion areas will be available soon.

So when will sonic roll out fiber or anything that offers higher speeds for us out there in Outer Richmond , San Francisco 94121 zip ? Anywhere from 20th and Geary to 30th and Geary ? I have been sonic customer for ages now but the difference between what you guys offer VS costs involved and what other companies offer for the same or even cheaper cost is SIGNIFICANT enough to make me re-consider my choice of sticking it out with sonic ... Said that throw us a bone or something cause I am at my wits end with paying for subpar speeds ...

Construction in San Francisco is moving along quickly. I can't provide an exact time frame, but it's a huge push here.

As long as it's moving I am happy and will stay with sonic for another year ... after that we shall see where we stand in terms of faster speeds .

Thanks for answer Dane

Woo! Just got off the phone with sonic tech support, and I'm right at the edge of benefiting from VDSL2. It's not installed in my local CO box yet (SNVACA01/94086), but hopefully it will be soon.

Hi Dane,

I was wondering if you are willing to share a few more precise date ranges on the VDSL2 rollout in SF. I fully understand that you don't want to disappoint us when dates slip, so my promise is that I won't take them as guranteed.

I am in 94133, close to Vallejo and Kearny. Theoretically, at 4637 feet, I might benefit from the VDSL2 upgrade and would even consider going X2 after that. But I have been told to wait until a migration process is in place, but it's unclear how long it'll take.

It would be great if there was some rough timeline you could share, because when I look around, it makes that wait tough, not knowing when. I'd even volunteer to be a beta guinea pig.

I am paying $60 for a line that I use for internet only. Real world around 9Mbits/sec down, up around 1. SF is a tough market for broadband, but there are (admittedly sh**ty) alternatives to get faster speeds at competitive prices. When I look at this chart, I get jealous: http://www.netindex.com/download/2,1/United-States/

Then again, Sonic has treated us very well and that goes a long way. Knowing what's to come and when would make that wait a lot easier.

Thanks a bunch!

Would love to know the roll-out estimation in Bennett Valley/north Summerfield also?

I'm in Bennett Valley, near Summerfield, and my Fusion VDSL2 is being installed on Friday. You should call and have them check your address.

What is your line distance near Summerfield? I wouldn't think that area would be close enough to a central office to get VDSL.

From "the Box", I'm probably 300-500 feet. I get about 5.5mbps down on legacy at this time. How do you figure out the distance??...every time I put my info into Sonic's site, it states that they aren't able to offer it at this time.
