I have received 5 phone calls today from Carrolton, TX, phone number 1-214-390-7411. They say the are calling because IRS is suing me. I am a retired Federal employee and I know IRS does not call people and does not sue people. This scam has been on our evening news. After the first 2 voice mail messages I decided I would pick up the phone and say, "IRS fraud unit, this is agent Stone, how may I help you." Tried it and there isn't a person on the line, just a recording. I hope Sonic can block this number for everyone so we don't go through this nonsense.
For the last week, my wife and I have been receiving calls from the same three digit phone number, 323.
The first time they called, an operator in a boiler room was trying to extract our PG&E account number from my wife, allegedly to switch us to a less expensive supplier of natural gas.
The next 6-10 times they called, we received a quick hang-up.
Any help blocking this number would be appreciated.
