I'm confused. Is the VDSL2+ offering just resold Uverse, or is it an in-house Sonic.net solution, with uverse as a third option?

@Dane - As an existing customer only 1500 feet or so from your CO, I'd love to get on board the VDSL2+ upgrade ASAP. Are you guys taking requests for that yet?

It is still Fusion but with updated technology (much faster VDSL2 instead of older ADSL2). Fusion via VDSL2 has nothing to do with ATT, except it uses the last mile of the ATT network wiring to get it to your home. Anything coming directly from the CO is a Sonic only product. The Sonic offering via an ATT RT is a rebranded U-Verse product in which Sonic has a partial degree of control over.

At that distance, you do qualify for a VDSL2 upgrade, but you will have to wait until they contact you to get your upgrade. They are still working on the process of migration. Only new customers can get VDSL2 right away if their local CO has been already upgraded.

Next time, please read through the thread before asking. Most, if not all, of your questions were already answered.

For what it's worth, the thread isn't very clear. I have read through the thread twice, and I was under the impression that Sonic's upcoming VDSL2 offerings were going to be the rebranded AT&T U-Verse product. I certainly hope that VDSL2 is offered as a replacement to ADSL2+, and has nothing to do with U-Verse.

I do not believe either was explicitly answered earlier. If they were, it was unclear to me as well.

Marcio and mszaro, I somewhat understand your confusion. I am assuming that you hadn't read a few other recent threads that help to clarify things. For example, this thread helps to understand.

When is this FTTN supposed to be rolling out? I remember DSLX introducing it over 5 months ago and since I am a loyal Sonic customer, I have been waiting for your offering. Resisting the Comcast/U-verse/DSLX offerings has been tough but I really don't like those guys and their deceptive pricing schemes. But for CRYIN' OUT LOUD, when is this supposed to roll out and the torture going to end? I mean this is much worse than watching paint dry...it's dry, it's hard, it's starting to crack and ready for a new coat. At least someone tell us what the current schedule is (subject to change of course). Man you guys have throw us a bone on this...PLEASE! I'm suffering here at 1.3mbs.

I'm thinking that the fastest way to get service on the new plans would be to cancel your current service, since current customers are apparently prioritized behind new customers. Fortunately I'm moving in 6 weeks :-)

I know, it's kind of frustrating that as an existing bonded x2 customer only 2200 ft from the CO I seem to be penalized every step of the way... new customers are eligible first for VDSL2+, plus existing single line customers are eligible for the Fusion x2 service before figuring out how to migrate existing bonded Fusion customers. I know sonic prides itself on customer service, but I'm feeling a bit taken advantage of here.

We're working hard on all of these projects; Fusion X2 is available for existing customers today and will be launched for new ones soon. Fusion V2 (VDSL2 interfaces) are being allocated to new customers on short loops today, and will will offer a migration path for existing ones soon. IP Internet and phone service via AT&T's FTTN (UVerse) network will also be offered soon. Finally we have made huge headway on scaling our fiber efforts, with lots of development resources going into the software and back-end to support that platform at scale.

I wish it were all easier and more rapid, but the complexity of delivering services is significant. Our team makes service delivery quick and easy for our members, but a lot is happening behind the scenes to pull that off.

Out of curiosity do you have a pricing plan in mind for using AT&T's existing FTTN service? Will it be fusion service + equipment rental only? Or is the pricing going to be higher?
