To be offered numbers, put in any valid Bay Area phone number in the search box and it'll offer you numbers in that rate center. Sorry we can't provide local numbers up there!

Bingo! We've just grabbed our new Petaluma fax number. Thanks....

I am having an issue signing up; I'm in Larkspur (southern Marin), and the sign-up tool claims there are no numbers in my area (415-927-XXXX). Am I in a data shadow?

Originally the intent was only to give Fusion Voice customers access to the free FaxLine service so the tool was created more or less with the assumption that the only time we wouldn't have a local number to a customer was if we had run out, not that we didn't have a local presence in the rate center. That isn't the case anymore so the tool's behavior needs to be clarified and adjusted a bit. It's likely it will suggest a number in the nearest rate center that we do have available numbers - but it may take a bit of work to expose all of that information in a way that the member tool will be able to use it.
So, the short answer; try feeding a number from a couple of nearby areas - we just turned up service in Mill Valley and I'm guessing that would be the closest rate center to Larkspur.

One tip as you attempt to do this - the best way I've come up with to find a local number in an area to to search for a gas station in that city. Eg, google for "gas, san francisco". That'll give you a valid local number for the area, which you can then plug in to the search box, then the system will offer you numbers in that rate center.

I've also fixed a bug (that I'd thought was already fixed) where at least some inbound faxes we discarded because the fax software couldn't figure out how many pages had been received. Sorry to those of you whose tests were discarded!

The fax I send from your outbound service to myself at 7:45 pm was never received, but after seeing kgc's message above I tried another one, and it seems to have made it through. Thanks!

I did what Dane suggested to get my out-of-area fax phone number: I googled gas, petaluma and copied a phone # into the box. It worked! I now have a fax number, yay!

Any chance of getting specific area codes that this supports? It appears 925 isn't one, even though it is a bay area #.

Mill Valley phone numbers did not work, but San Rafael phone numbers produced a list, and I was able to sign up. Good to go.
