Why can't ported # be unlisted??

I see the previous message was from several years ago... has this changed?
We just switched to Sonic, and would like to have our number changed to be unlisted. Is this possible?

Sonic can not unlist the number. The only folk capable of removing you from phone listings are the folk who put you on the list.
