In the past week I am no longer receiving faxes. I colleague informed me she was unable to fax, and then I tried faxing from my Sonic Fusion phone line to the fax, and it did not connect.

I've just used the Member Tools -> Labs -> Send a fax function here to send a fax to my FaxLine. Sounds a bit circular, but it should be a valid test of both sending a receiving capabilities. Refreshing fax history showed it progressing to process, transmit, and then I received the confirmation of transmission and then the received two-page PDF and cover sheet.

Will you try sending yourself a fax via the Send a fax link in the Labs section of the Member Tools?

Hi Dane (old dog-park buddy),
I tried your suggesting of sending myself a fax. It showed "processing" but not transmit, and I did not receive the fax. I checked the fax history, and it does not show the fax attempt. The history does show the fax I tried to send last week from my home fax line, but it shows "0 pages received."
Thx,
Candace

Candace, I suspect there was an error when you submit the fax since there is no record on the account of you attempting to send it. As far as the original problem, reception is fairly good but due to the technologies used there is a higher fax failure rate than using a high quality fax machine plugged into a high quality analog telephone line. In most cases this isn't a problem since sending fax machines will retry the fax and it will get through. However, someone manually sending it may not retry.

It seems odd that all of a sudden my fax line is not receiving. A friend tried twice to send a fax, and I tried twice from my Fusion land line and once by uploading the file and faxing it to my fax line.

Are you saying there is nothing that can be done to fix this?
