Can somebody tell me how to configure SpamAssassin to filter out messages with a specific subject line?

The story is, I was/am selling something on CraigsList, and somebody replied, it sounded legit, they didn't reply back, and now I get multiple porn emails a day with that same subject line. My plan is to use SA to filter them out.

thanks

I can't help with the SA configuration, but I can tell you that I don't use my "real" address with CL. I use an alias (from my domain), and when I encounter someone who does that you described, I delete the alias and create another.

I don't have my own domain though.

You can still create an alternate mail account on one of the many free email services (Yahoo, Outlook, Gmail, etc.) to use for your Craigslist postings. Then, as Mike suggested, if it leads to spam such as you've encountered, just delete that alternate account and create a new (different) one.

I know it's a PITA to do that, but it's your only safe way of using CL.

Well, regardless. What's done is done. I'll do that next time though.

Well, I figured it out. It was actually pretty easy. The member tool is fairly straightforward. Last time I attempted such thing, it was not so easy. Granted that was several years ago now...

And if one uses a Gmail account, it can be set up to forward all mail to one's regular mailbox, so that it's not necessary to check more than one box each day.
