My home is 10K feet away from the CO per the information I got from sonic support. The statistics of the modem is as follows:

Mode: ADSL2+
Line Coding: Trellis On
Status: No Defect
Link Power State: L0

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 6.1 10.6
Attenuation (dB): 51.5 26.3
Output Power (dBm): 12.8 0.0
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 6112 1232
Rate (Kbps): 4605 1019

I feel the downstream attenuation is too high compare to the report in the post of others:
Line of Sight:2607m Estimated Cable:3259m Estimated Attenuation:46

xDSL
Mode ADSL_2plus
Traffic Type ATM
Status Up
Link Power State L0
Downstream Upstream
Line Coding (Trellis) On On
SNR Margin (dB) 5.7 17.7
Attenuation (dB) 43.5 23.4
Output Power (dBm) 0.0 12.8
Attainable Rate (Kbps) 10060 1004
Rate (Kbps) 9549 812
Is the reading of my modem normal? or, the result above is better than average?

If the loop length is actually 10,000 feet, 43dB attenuation and 9,549kbps downstream is abnormally good. 95% of our customers at 10,000 feet are at 6mbps or slower.

Loop lengths are estimates, electronically measured, so a number of conditions can cause a line to appear longer than it really is, sometimes conditions that can be repaired and result in better performance.

Using the DSL Speed Calculator at: http://www.speedguide.net/dsl_speed_calc.php, 43.5dB attenuation corresponding to 3150m of cable length. That equivalent to 10.335K feet. So, I think unless the cable AT&T uses perform bad than the average 26AWG wire, most of the users at 10K feet should see around 43.5dB loss.
I agree, that the 9.549Mbps is abnormally good. Is there exists a super modem which performs much better than average modes so it can reach nearly 10Mbps at 10K feet? If it does exist, what model number could it be?
