Hi,
I am currently a sonic subscriber - have the 1GB connection and love it. was curious if you have plans to upgrade the 1GB to 10GB in Glen Park, if so what is the approximate timeline?

thanks

Hello! Yes, we do have plans for all of our 1 Gigabit customers to have the option to upgrade to 10 Gigabits. You can expect to see a “Request Upgrade” tool become available in the near future but I unfortunately do not have an estimate I can provide. While there is no additional monthly fee for 10Gbps service, you can expect a one-time fee for the equipment swap in the CO and premise.

Thanks.

Absolutely. We will ideally have an upgrade path for all of our current 1gbs to switch 10gbs. As to when that can be expected, we unfortunately do not have a estimate we can provide at this time.

Any thoughts for San Mateo?

I’m afraid also “don’t have an estimate right now”? :-/

Please know we are eagerly waiting (for a long time) and ready to pay the upgrade fee

Hi good morning!

Curious if there was an update on Glen Park? I saw some sonic trucks in the area and was curious if 10G is rolling out soon?

If you just started seeing Sonic trucks it'll probably be a while.

I take regular walks around my neighborhood. The first possibly-related work I noticed in the immediate neighborhood was new/replacement anchors for the guy wires anchoring the utility poles. That was a while ago and if I remember correctly that work was done by PG&E.

A while after that, Sonic started hanging cable.

If you see Sonic employees setting up tents and tables on the sidewalk to work on the ends of the fibers (next to either a box in the ground or up a utility pole), it's getting close. I think they spent a couple days at each such location.

At one of these I asked the worker how long before the network would be live he said "realistically, 2 months" and he was right.
