Hello Sonic Team and Community,
I am writing to formally request and demonstrate the high demand for a fiber network expansion to a specific coverage gap in San Francisco's Inner Sunset neighborhood, focusing on Judah Street.

I am a recent resident of this block and a former, very happy Sonic customer from my previous address. The difference in service quality after being forced to switch to the local monopoly provider is stark. My positive experience with Sonic's symmetrical speeds, fair pricing, and reliable service is precisely why I am motivated to create this appeal. I am eager to return as a customer.

To consolidate the demand and make a clear business case for this expansion, I have started a petition. We are a concentrated group of residents ready to sign up for service the moment it becomes available.

You can view the petition and the community support here:

Expanding to our block would close a known coverage gap in the Inner Sunset and guarantee Sonic a new, dedicated customer base in a neighborhood you already serve.

Could the network planning team please review this area for your next expansion phase? Your consideration would be greatly appreciated by our entire block.
Thank you for your time and for the excellent service you provide to the Bay Area.

Dan gave lots of details about this sort of thing back when they first deployed fiber (at at the time we lived in Sunset and got fiber).

There are some blocks with telephone poles in backyards that basically make it impossible to deploy. They would need permission from each and every property owner to get into the backyards. Then all the reschedules/delays as one single person not being available could block the whole install.

Other areas are underground and despite the state law requiring the city to allow microtrenching by right there is still some unresolved fuss.

And if memory serves there were some locations where poor pole quality, conflicting infrastructure, etc caused problems.

The vast vast majority of the deployment gaps are the result of other people's problems that Sonic has no control over.
