Sonic Fiber Status in Highland Park, Los Angeles

Hi,

I recently signed up for Sonic Fiber Internet and was curious as to what stage is my status specifically for my location, beyond the status tool? I totally understand that the process of installing fiber optics is a very lengthy process, so I don’t expect the status to change anytime soon (although, that would be great! Would love to leave Spectrum as soon as I can!) I’m not sure if you’re able to see the address on my file but my zip code is 90065. Thank you!

Hi Max,

We're currently in the very early stages of development in your neighborhood (Planning stage). This is where we survey the overall area for the condition and availability of telephone poles and if we need to do any trenching work to bring the cable underground, among other factors. Once we know exactly what permits will be needed to start our deployment in the area as well as how we can run our infrastructure, then we'll move onto the Pre-Construction phase, where we apply for the necessary permits with the city. The pre-construction phase can be quite lengthy depending on how quickly the city gets around to reviewing/approving the permits but it typically can take several months to a year. Once everything is approved, we'll move onto the Construction phase where we start physically installing the infrastructure in the area and can also take awhile to complete, however we will provide forecasted timelines of completion during this time to keep you in the loop.

All this to say, it will be quite some time before we're ready to do installs in your neighborhood. I can't provide any accurate timeline for completion at this time, but if I had to make an educated guess, it will most likely be one year or longer.

Hi - I’m also in Highland Park (90042) and my construction status has moved into “Construction” phase with forecasted live date of October.

Are you able to confirm that construction has actually started in Highland Park, and how feasible is it that we’ll see active service later this year?
