I first posted about this in late December, and it's still an issue.

When I try to get stats on my Sonic-hosted blog, http://metaphorager.net, I get this message:

I was told in December that it would be fixed "soon," and partly chalk it up to my lack of follow-through for letting it go on this long. As The Beatles so woefully sang, "Won't you please, please help me?"

Hi Neal,

I'm bringing this up at our weekly meeting again to get some traction. For better or worse, the current web hosting servers are running a legacy stack of software which has proven difficult to maintain as it drifts further away from official support channels. As much as I'd like to guarantee a fix, the best solution is to start looking for another web hosting provider who focuses on providing excellent customer support with a focus on Wordpress users. There are a number of folks who have posted here in the Hosting section about what providers have been good fits for them and the basic process of moving some/all of the services for a site from Sonic to another provider.

Thanks for the effort - unless Sonic dumps me, though, I'm unwilling to dump Sonic. (Old - like, since 1995 - habits die hard.) I appreciate whatever "traction" you can bring to bear!

Hi Neal,

I became Sonic 10G Fiber customer on 11-Mar-2025 after waiting years. I support their fiber service expansion priority over other services. I am sure you've seen by now Sonic announced, "Web Hosting services at Sonic are considered a legacy service."

Your site HTTPS software doesn't support the improved encryption other sites now require. Your web site shows very old platform software consistent with long deferred software maintenance. Given old versions in use, resolution requires major platform software upgrade; a substantial recommitment by Sonic.

I know how to fix issues like this but can't without Sonic platform access, an unlikely outcome if Sonic really wants Hosting customers to move on. If Sonic stays on the fiber first plan, then it may be time to move on if you really need those services working.

BTW, this is NOT an SSL Certificate issue; this site is NOT enabled for HTTPS, port 443 connect attempts timeout.
This issue is outbound HTTPS connections don't support TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3 encryption required by external sites.
