We typically run Ethernet from there along the ceiling of the garage, and do a floor penetration to the first level and place the Sonic residential gateway (Pace 5268AC) at that location. If you wanted it somewhere else, and that required wire fished through walls, attics, second story access etc, you'd need to complete that prior or afterward.
I think a floor penetration to the first level would not be possible because there is a den/room below, so fishing may be necessary. I may have to hire an electrician to string Cat6 cable from the MPOE location and fish it up to the first level before fiber install.
Yes, that's sounds like it's likely the smoothest path.

Let us know who you use to do the work, and what sort of job they do. I imagine other Sonic Fusion Gigabit Fiber customers may be interested in custom whole-home Ethernet wiring or extended demarcation beyond our typical install.

We have not announced any other East Bay cities at this time, aside from Brentwood.

Thanks

June has arrived and I noticed in the Member Tools screen an "Upgrade or Downgrade Service" option. So I clicked through the screens and placed an order for Gigibit Fiber on the 7th. This morning on the 9th without prior notice, a shiny white Sonic.net truck appeared at my doorstep and the technician did a cable drop from the aerial pole line to the outside of the house. Then just now, I got a text/e-mail to schedule an installation appointment which will take place on the afternoon of the 14th. Everything is happening so fast, I need some Dramamine.

Thanks for the feedback! Be sure to let us know if you have any questions throughout the upgrade process.

Does the ONT and its backup battery need a 3 prongs power outlet? Is a 2 prongs power outlet adequate?

@dane, FlexNap link in original post is dead; is this the product?
https://www.corning.com/optical-communi ... exnap.html
Other links are dead as well and IMO original post is golden; can you fix dead links?
