Hello,

I'm very interested in Sonic becoming available in Redondo Beach, CA. I was hoping to get an update on the actual status, beyond just saying pre-construction.

I've contacted my city council member to ask what the status was from the city's perspective, and if there was any way we (residents of Redondo) could help move the process along. I was informed that the city had provided a response + directions to Sonic for moving forward, yet the last communication received from Sonic was in April of this year.

Is the effort to move into Redondo Beach abandoned? Is there anything we can do to help the process move along, especially with respect to interacting with the city council?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out about our Fiber build-out in Redondo Beach. I have contacted our Fiber Engineering team to see if I can get an update on this for you.

Once I get more information, I will update this thread.

Our most up-to-date information on this matter is that we are working on specific configurations for our central office in the Redondo Beach area. The restrictions the City has placed on our build-out have made it extremely difficult and specific for us to proceed with the build.

Our Project Manager in charge of the Redondo Beach build-out is in ongoing talks and communication with the City Administration to keep this moving forward.

Thanks for the update.

Do you think we’re 6+ months out? (Also in Redondo Beach)

I’ve pre-purchased Sonic service and have no plans of cancelling, but my active internet services bill has increased. Wonder if I should shop around for a cheap short term contract or stick it out for a few months.

Thanks!

I'd like to have a follow up regarding this post with a similar question but for the 90250 Hawthorne area? Are there any projected start date of the construction?

Thank you for reaching out. Your area of Redondo Beach is also in pre-construction. Based on feedback so far I wouldn't be able to provide an accurate timeline on the build-out. As of the most recent updates from our project manager for the area is still communicating daily with City Admin to keep the project moving in the right direction.

Hello,

As of right now, the Hawthorne portion of the build-out doesn't have a projected start date that would be accurate to share. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work being done to work toward this project. Hopefully, in the near future, we can share more updates with you folks.
