Read about Chinese hacking into systems via old, unpatched hardware. Trying to find out if my hardware has latest patches and is regularly updated. It's several years old. Asked Sonic support and they can't answer?! Was told I can ask AT&T but they may not answer since I'm not their customer. Was directed to the forums.
Anyone know?

Assuming from context you have the resold AT&T service, they push firmware updates regularly, usually roughly every two months.
My router is the BGW320, and was last updated around 3 weeks ago, to firmware version 6.30.7
If your router is several years old, it is probably the BGW210, but either way they still get the same updates.
You can check your firmware version and when it was last rebooted (which may be the time of the last update) at your router's system information page:

Security updates are one of the main reasons that providers generally want customers using equipment owned, and managed by the provider. When you buy retail equipment like the TP link gear, it isn’t managed and isn’t kept up-to-date in the same way.
