Does sonic provide a gateway monitoring IP for IPV6?

Ping.sonic.net does not have an IPV6 address associated with it, just an A record. I have been trying to find any equivalent but I am not coming up with anything. I know I could use an anycast type of public server, but I would rather use one that’s in network.

Not sure if you already aware Sonic have their own ping monitoring tools to check the uptime of customers' ONT. info1 and info2

But a.icmp-monitor.noc.sonic.net only cough up A IPV4 record; no AAAA IPv6 records.

I configured my UDM Pro to use a.icmp-monitor.noc.sonic.net (69.12.210.169) for latency check.

What you need IPv6 for?

I am aware of sonic’s network integrity ping, and my firewall answers their call.

As for IPv6, there is no need for it at this point.
But, it is the future of the Internet.
Currently, I am just getting more familiar with it. getting used to looking at the longer address. Breaking down the different parts of it so it doesn’t look so intimidating or confusing. Also, expanding my understanding on how differently it is routed and behaves in a dual stack environment.

I’ll keep looking periodically. I’m sure as IPv6 progresses along. Sonic will add some type of IPv6 Pinger.
In the meantime, I’m just going to ping an anycast server for my IPV6 gateway monitoring.

Try ns1.sonic.net and/or ns2.sonic.net

I did first use ns2.sonic.net when I first set up IPV6. But I wasn’t sure if it was proper Internet etiquette to keep using a sonic name server for gateway monitoring.
I see that you are a sonic system engineer and if it’s OK I’ll go back to using ns2.sonic.net until further notice.
Thank you.
