I know that Apple needs to answer some questions, but I'm going to start here to see if I can get a quicker answer.
I accidentally swiped left on a message using the Mail app on my iPad running iPadOS 18. Even though I have Swipe Left configured for "Flag," the message disappeared from the list.
It does not appear in my Trash folder on the iPad. Digging into the iPad's Mail App's settings, I see "Ask Before Deleting" is toggled on, but the iPad never asked.
I intentionally swiped left on a benign message, and the same thing happened, so I think the iPad Mail app is broken. However, I really wanted to get the first message back, so I dug furhter. Checking the advanced settings (which I don't recall ever touching), it has:
I went to see what the "Deleted Mailbox" is, and it has:
I logged into Sonic webmail, and I see this:
The DELETED_MESSAGES folder is there, but not the Deleted Messages folder.
I'm guessing this means the iPad thought it was supposed to put the messages in a place that doesn't exist, so it simply made them disappear.
This mailbox is accessed through IMAP. Is it possible for Sonic to recover the messages (even if it means grabbing all messages delivered today)? ...thanks!
