Residents on the other side of Anderson though for example, will continue to wait until the PWDAC approves the Permit for the 277 Anderson crossing.
Does the Mission crossing activate the entire network south of Cortland or only west of Anderson? I.e. if you live east of Anderson and south of Cortland, do you still have to wait for the Anderson crossing?

i’m late to the party, but just doing some detective work by perusing the forum posts here and using the website to check for availability in bernal heights area.

according to the website, 10GB service is already available for addresses west of anderson OR south of cortland. is that true or is this service that is in progress of being rolled out?

any address i punched in that was east of anderson AND north of cortland came back with “not available in your area” type of response.

dare i ask, is there any hope for homes south of the hill, east of anderson and north of cortland to get fiber service in the next year?

i moved to bernal from noe recently, where we were fortunate to have 1GB sonic fiber for nearly 5 years. it’s the best internet service i’ve had—hands down!

i miss it so much. :(

We're east of Anderson and south of Cortland (down towards Farmer's Market) and still waiting for service. There is Sonic fiber running on the poles right past our house (literally ten feet away) with orange 'Sonic' ID rings on it which was installed two years ago, but it's not live because the street-crossings to their Central Office tie-in are what's holding everything up.

So that's one data point. I have no idea what specific areas are live and what others are not at this point.

Any updates on the remaining construction to light up Bernal? I noticed that some SF DPW permits for the neighborhood (codename "Willow") expired back in March and haven't been renewed...

Hello!

Looks like for your area we are working on MUNI permitting. This permitting request does take some time and our Project Manager in this area is working as quickly as they can to get this requested pushed to the powers that be. We are looking for a Late September - Mid October go live date if we factor in how long these MUNI permits take.

Best Wishes!

Tuesday, July 30, 2024 @ 4PM: There were six(!) Sonic trucks at Crescent and Ellsworth, and one of the workers claimed they were 'lighting up houses now'. I asked if they had finally crossed Mission/Chavez /or whatever is holding things up, and he couldn't answer that one.

So if this is true then it sounds like a patchwork installation, but any installation is better than no installation. Scratch your lottery tickets to find out who's next on the list.

Hello!

It seems we are now waiting on MUNI permits. Im guessing we are looking at a late September to early October go live date for your area.

Best Wishes!

The installer in the truck on Crescent said they were 'lighting up houses' nearby (but also said he had no information on the trenching plans or its progress, since that's a different group). I didn't press on details but if one is 'lighting up houses' that implies that the fiber on the poles is already live.

Again this was at Anderson/Crescent. So I'm getting mixed messages from Sonic; can you please double-check to see what is live (if anything) and what is not?

Hello!

Sadly, the fiber in your area is not live yet. Hopefully, we will have news of service being activated in your area soon!

Best Wishes!

Today (Wednesday 7/31) there are a number of Sonic vans clustered around Ellsworth & Crescent, and I talked with two different installers who said they are definitely connecting up houses in the area, as in a live fiber connection. (Numerous houses have ladders propped up outside, implying an actual, physical connection.) Now this vicinity might be live while something nearby might not, so it's difficult to guess where the boundaries could be. "Bernal Heights" covers a lot of territory; any talk about what's lit up and what's not needs to be qualified down to the street/intersection level.
