Fiber to Brickyard Cove, Richmond, CA

Requesting that SONIC install fiber to Brickyard Cove in Pt. Richmond, Richmond, CA.

There are multiple housing developments in Brickyard Cove which do not have fiber, including the homes on Mallard, Pelican, Sanderling, Sandpiper and Brickyard Cove Road, and the Brickyard Landing Condominiums on Brickyard Cove Road. There are also multiple nearby businesses in the Port of Richmond and along Canal Blvd. that do not have fiber. A few adjacent developments have ATT fiber, including the businesses at Richmond Boardwalk, and the housing developments: Seacliff and Waterline.

Further, Brickyard Cove has limited cell coverage, another reason that fiber is attractive to us.

Is Sonic interested in bringing fiber to these homes and businesses?

We are working diligently to build our infrastructure in new and existing areas and hope to be able to service your neighborhood in the future.

We may have yet to announce a build-out in your area due to Overloaded Poles or the need for access to underground utilities, which requires micro-trenching. When areas have overloaded poles, this delays us from building out infrastructure or even being able to expand into specific neighborhoods. These poles then need to be replaced, which can cause a multitude of delays.

Micro-trenching infrastructure requires specialized equipment, permits from the city, and traffic detours to access underground utilities. While we are working to make this more common, delays and obstacles can prevent us from expanding.

While we work to overcome these obstacles, they are real and more common than we'd like. We understand the need for great internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity, and we hope to make that a reality for as many customers as possible. Should we announce fiber expansion in your area, we will have representatives in the field contacting residents.
