West Oakland outage?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but my service went out last night around midnight. I'm located in West Oakland (wood st) and was wondering if it's just me or if anybody else is experiencing it? (In this area - I'm sure there are others more affected; the storm wasn't tooo bad here.)

I imagine/hope if it was a neighborhood-wide issue there'd be quicker response, so quite possible it is just me.

I've worked with support over SMS and went through the obvious (restarted ONT, reseated fibre, etc.) to no avail so it seems like it's upstream. Wish I could check link/light level/etc in a more granular way, but the first level support don't seem able to do that. They've said they'll send a technician, but (understandably given the storm, but...) can't until Friday.

Were you affected by a power outage there? We lost a number of the Adtran 622 model optical network terminal devices during power failures and are scrambling to get those restored or replaced now.

Thanks for the follow-up! I didn’t lose power, but don’t know how nearby that device would be to know if it might’ve been affected by an outage my block wasn’t, but seems possible. [Edit: didn’t realize that was the in-home ONT, assumed it was a piece of upstream equipment. Mine seems to come up ok except for red on the fibre link light, and wasn’t AFAIK affected by power issues.]

Anyway, I understand you’ve got a lot to fix. I’m certainly hopeful the work to fix those sorts me out and a specific tech visit doesn’t end up needed…My tethering plan’s definitely not going to hold out that long, but will make it work in the mean time of course.
