If you are inquiring about our fiber optic service, we couldn't use this method due to the limitation of coax bandwidth capacity. Any section that ran through coax will be a severe "bottleneck" and would limit the speed you get in the end, unfortunately. It would be best to use 100% Fiber line to ensure you get what you are actually paying for in the end. We hope this information helps. Take care.

It's a hardware problem.

On a serious note, fiber and coax are physically and electrically incompatible entry methods; fiber is not conductive, and coax doesn't pass light.

Yes that first issue seems likely.

But fiber is totally different than coax, and Sonic only delivers fiber service. To try to use coax for our service would be like trying to use a phone wire to deliver TV.

Every home needs this new fiber infrastructure. A hole was drilled for coax for cable TV, now it’s time to drill a new one for fiber internet. These sort of new cabling infrastructures only come along once every half century, so building owners do not need to worry that it’ll happen again and again and again.
