posting to wordpress remotely

I'm trying to use some offline tools to prepare posts to my wordpress blog. Tools like
BloGTK
Drivel
Gnome Blog
GScribble
WordPress Comments notifier
QTM

I haveent picked one yet but they all rely on a xml-rpc endpoint to connect to the blog.

What should be the url to the endpoint. something like https://mydomainname.com/?????

also anyone have any suggestion for a good blogging tool. I use linux and they have lots of tools but i have experience with none of them.
