I was in vacation in the sequoia national forest. no cable, dsl or anything fancy there.
The options are hugues net satellite internet or dialup.
Sonic used to work there using a modem in springville, CA whose number is listed at http://www.sonic.net/popf2/
28.8 kbps is better than nothing, right ?
This year after authenticating, once I could ping 8.8.8.8 with a 3 sec round trip. All other times even this did not work.
I called sonic support and tech did not even know sonic ever provided dialup so he could not help.
So is it supposed to still work ?
I understand focus is on gigabit fiber but reliable dial up fallback is useful too.
