I have become unsatisfied with Sonic as a service provider, but can't stomach the alternatives....

I'm in same boat as you are except that I have U-verse in my area, After doing my homework for 2 months now I found that the most cost effective service has to be comcast, So I just signed up with them I will try them for one year for $40 a month @ 100mb speed and 1TB monthly cap (I own my cable modem), Within a year if Sonic drops rental fees and started accepting third party devices and dropped phone service I will consider them if not my bill will jump to $65-$70 a month with comcast but still a good deal compared to 30-50mb speed that I would get from Sonic for the same price.

Comcast tech just left my house, I tested the speed and shows 120mb/s that's 20mb/s more, not bad.
