Hello,

I'm currently trying to update my community forums which run on IP.Board. However, during the update process, the software stalled with an error preventing me from implementing the latest patch. I contacted the software vendor for support, and they're telling me that one of two issues may be cause:

1) XLMReader PHP extension is not installed on your server or it is missing the readString functionality
2) libXML 2.6.20 or later must be installed

I checked the phpinfo() call for PHP 5.5, and XMLReader is enabled, but libXML is currently running 2.6.14. Is there a workaround to enable libXML 2.6.20 or later on my account?

Many thanks,
Jon

Hi, do I need to provide more information about my problem? Or is this not supported?

Jon,

We're looking into upgrading libxml and a few other things on the web hosting cluster. I'll let you know when I have more information - so far, it looks like an updated libxml2 should be on the way.

Dear William,

Apologies for the late reply. I just tried upgrading my forum software and I'm receiving this error:
EX2 XMLReader::readString(): Unimplemented block
After speaking to my forum vendor, they're still telling me it's an issue with my hosting account.

Is this an issue with the hosting account or the software that I'm using?

I believe there was something not configured properly.
Can you try again?
