I third the request. If it requires some sort of "yes, I understand I may be shooting myself in the foot and leaving the line in an irretrievable state until phone support is back in the morning" checkbox, sure, but being able to do this in an automated fashion would be very handy for cloud backups running while I'm sleeping.

I know it isn't what you meant, but you could automate it from your end with a modem and something setup to call out to the IVR and swap back and forth at your determined times. With a little bit of fooling you should be able to get a dial string to the modem with all of the pauses in it. I think # will stop most menu playbacks.

I tried on my motorola 2247 , which at some point was supported by Sonic.net.And I followed instructions on Sonic's wiki (https://wiki.sonic.net/wiki/Enabling_An ... 0_and_2247) to enable Annex M but after enabling it via IVR , I lost my connectivity and the DSL light on modem kept on blinking.
I did a couple of reboots and waited for 15+ mins but could not get DSL connectivity.
Not sure what the issue is.

Also I like it very much that i could do this via IVR because I lost connectivity. So it was thoughtful to have IVR support as i could play with it without calling support.

tried changing multiple settings of my modem especially tried each one of them and rebooted modem but still not working.

Code: Select all

set dmt type adsl2+anxm
set dmt type adsl2+
set dmt type adsl2anxm
set dmt type adsl2
In fact my observation is that as soon as I turn on the Annex M via the IVR , the modem just stops syncing completely and just flashes the DSL light. Then regardless of the parameters I change , nothing changes so not sure what is going on and Im not an expert on DSL modem :-(

Hope someone else can probably share their experiences about Annex M .

I just tried doing this using 611 option 2 and it worked easily.

FANTASTIC feature.
