I tried searching for "discardable email" and was presented with 1829 hits. I did this again using Advanced Search with the same result. When I searched "discardable" there were no hits. I tried to find the answer without posting, but search does not seem flexible enough to find only topics with both terms.

I've been having 'bad luck' with spammers replying to ads on the SF Bay Craigslist only because they want an email reply so they can add the address to a spamming list to sell. It is probably an indication of a toxic message if the reply asks a question but does not provide a telephone contact.

Is it 'acceptable use' of Sonic's email server to create an extra email account just for use with Craigslist? I can foresee the need to change the account name every few months after the level of spamming becomes intolerable.

As I recall, Earthlink provided on request 4 'anonymous' email accounts on their web mail server. They assigned the names. Have I missed such a provision at Sonic?

thanks

Your service currently entitles you to 17 additional email-only accounts. You are welcome to use them for any activity that would be legitimate for your main account. You can set up additional mailboxes at https://members.sonic.net/email/mailboxes/

the other thing you can do is add a + sign to the end of your username, followed by whatever text you would like, e.g. "[email protected]". And then you'd have to figure out how to make a rule to filter out those emails into a separate folder in your webmail or something. Also, some forms won't let you use plus signs, but its worth a shot?
