A weekly timer to power cycle the unit during a low use period?

I usually power cycle my modem once a month just to clear all the data / errors it accumulated a practice I learned while working with some of the older company ISP.

To me, that's regular enough that we should investigate. We'd want to troubleshoot over the phone to see if there's any external factor that could be causing this (faulty power source or interference from a nearby appliance). We'd also want to make sure if you're using the modem in bridged mode and a separate router behind it that the router wasn't the actual problem. After investigating, we'd send a replacement.
