Has anyone tried Ubiquiti's EdgeRouter X yet? It doesn't have the EdgeRouter Lite's Cavium chip (or its IPSEC offload), but it has a faster CPU, an additional port, and costs only $50. I wonder if it's fast enough to handle OpenVPN at wire speed for non-fiber users.
the edgerouter lite worked fine for me as an open VPN client. but in my case I'm more interested in visibility than raw speed. I want the feature portfolio that I have with pfsense.
have you tried an edgerouter lite and found that it did not work for you? if not, and if you're in the east bay, I could lend you one. I'm currently not using it, and it would keep me from wading into installing freebsd on it.
