Does anyone know how to enable remote access through the Sonic firewall? I used to be able to access the server of the POS system at my business with AT&T, but have been unable to do so with Sonic, even tech support seemed stumped. Would appreciate any worthwhile suggestions.

If you can identify the IP address of your POS server, and you can forward the proper ports to the server so it is accessible from the WAN side of things. Essentially once you log into http://gateway.sonic.net, select the Firewall icon. Next, click on Applications, Pinholes, and DMZ.

From here, you can select the IP address of the POS server, and specify which ports should be directed to the POS system. You'll need to touch base with the POS manufacturer to find out what these ports are, but once these are configured properly, you should be all set.

Alternatively, you can DMZ the device through our gateway as well, but this isn't recommended.

Hope that helps,

Dan,
That is exactly what I did and it did not work. Any other ideas?
