Hi. I have a super basic question which I'm surprised I couldn't find answers to on Sonic website, FAQ. (

Essentially, what is the physical setup process for a new customer?

I have a 1.5 MB/S DSL, plus voice, from AT&T.

When I order (online) to replace this with Sonic:

>Does a SOnic technician visit to get things started, or is equipment and instructions sent by mail?
>If a technician comes, does Sonic call me to schedule?
>What is the downtime between AT&T decommissioning and Sonic service deployment?
>WHo is responsible for stopping my AT&T billing and service, me or SOnic?
>How soon can service be installed?

Thanks!

There are multiple answers, depending on the type of service that you get. The type of service usually is determined by your distance (by wire, not by streets) from the AT&T Central Office. If you're around 7,500 feet or fewer from the CO, most likely, you'll get your equipment in the mail. If farther, most likely, you'll get put on a service that requires a technician visit.

Start the sign-up process to get an estimate of your distance from the CO (you don't have to complete the sign up), and reply here with that information, and it'll be easier to answer your questions.
