Not sure how feasible this is but wondered if there was a option to add VOIP service to the normal Internet + Phone Line bundle. I don't even use the home phone service so it's kinda of a waste but if there was a VOIP option perhaps routed to setting on the labs site, that would be great.

Can you explain what you're seeking? VoIP is just another way to deliver a phone service, and you've already got one phone line, why would you want another?

Thanks for replying. Maybe I'm using the term VOIP wrong... Anyway what I was thinking was an App that makes and receiving phone calls leveraging our current Fusion phone line. I'm not home that often so the home phone line isn't used much and I don't have a smartphone plan. So being able to make a receive phone calls on a wi fi tablet using current fusion phone number.
No, your best bet would by Skype.

Maybe you could hook up one of these consumer ATA boxes which I believe let you do stuff like route an incoming SIP call from your Fusion IP connection over a physical phone line i.e. your Fusion voice line - and vice-versa. They are complicated to set up with many, many options, some of which have to be just right to work and many that need a lot of tweaking for optimal quality (e.g. CODECs). That said I've had some success a few years back but no longer have the need for it.pwchu wrote:Thanks for replying. Maybe I'm using the term VOIP wrong... (Linksys also make ATA boxes).
you can do that with comcast home phone, dont need to have the phone hooked up, but you can make and recieve calls and also text using wifi. at no additional charge. its great!pwchu wrote:Thanks for replying. the "additional" charges are padded in the first bill, whether you use the features or not. and the personal cost of dealing with comcast when you need support is, well astronomical.john wrote: at no additional charge. its great!
-definitely not what I could ever call great....
I figure it's a shill or troll.
One has to wonder what the going pay rate is by comcATT for these "users" to post these lies? is it per post? or by the word?virtualmike wrote:I figure it's a shill or troll.
